The signal transmitter (1) comprises multiple antenna units (A1-A3) that are connected in series to a common receiver unit (EEG) in a standby mode, to receive a transmission signal from a transceiver module of a vehicle. The antenna units include multiple coils (L1-L3) which form a parallel resonant circuit together with multiple capacitors (C1-C3). Each of the antenna units is connected to an electric mass (M). Multiple separate receiver units comprise amplifiers, demodulators and decision units. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an identification signal transmitter of a locking system of a vehicle.
