The device has a retainer for a bearing body (15) for supporting an armature shaft (5) and arranged in an area of a brush carrier (10). The body lies at a contact surface of the retainer in a form-fit manner. The body is fixedly accommodated in the retainer by a clamping connection, where the connection comprises clamping geometry for insertion of the body into the retainer in a radially and elastically expandable manner. The connection is radially engaged into the retainer in an axial end position of the body and force-loaded axially in the direction against the contact surface.
