The friction clutch (7) has pressure plate (8) having a pressing face (9) for releasable frictional engagement with a friction partner, and an opposite rear side (10) with ramp (41). A screw driven adjusting device (16) is provided for stepwise wear-dependent twisting of ramp ring (1). A support ramp (3) is radially spaced from the ramp ring, and is non-rotatably connected to the ramp ring. A clutch cover (15) is provided in clutch housing (14). The clutch cover has lid mount (26) with which support ramp is brought into contact by actuation of clutch to relieve the ramp ring. An independent claim is included for motor car.
