The method involves forming a set of elementary structures (150) on a face of a substrate (100), where the structures are spaced from each other on the substrate by trenches (160). An insulating material layer (136) is deposited on the structures. An opening of the insulating material layer is leveled with a p-type layer (134) or an n-type layer (132) of the structures to expose a part of the p-type layer or the n-type layer through the insulating material layer. A p or n-type electrical contact stud (138) is formed on the exposed part of the p-type layer or the n-type layer. An independent claim is also included for a structure for collective manufacturing of LEDs.
