The invention relates to a device (1) for generating surface plasmons by electrical injection, comprising at least one field-effect transistor arranged on a substrate (10) comprising a source electrode (S), a drain electrode (D), ), a gate electrode (G) and a channel (11) comprising at least one carbon nanotube electrically connected to said source electrode (S) and said drain electrode (D), characterized in that said device (1) ) comprises a set of plasmonic guide (s) (PG), a plasmonic guide (PG) of the set comprising a metallic material, at least a part (13) of the channel (11) called transmitting part emitting a wave optical (EL) by electroluminescence when electric charges are injected into the channel (11), the optical wave being able to couple to at least one surface plasmon mode (SPP) in an associated plasmonic guide (PG), a guide the plasmonic (PG) of the set being adapted for r propagating at least one surface plasmon mode (SSP) by coupling with the optical wave emitted by an associated transmitting part (13).
