The method involves identifying characteristics of localization (10) and lane of a vehicle on a track, and determining a path to be followed by the vehicle (11) until a position of the vehicle reaches on the track, where the position refers to an apex of a turn. A value of an angle correction (alpha-p) is calculated, where the value is equal to difference between the value of the angle and a value of the angle correction described by a movement of a directional control element at a moment. A path and/or angle correction is signaled (12) by a sound, visual or tactile unit. An independent claim is also included for an assistance system.
