PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat type capacitor having a large capacitance.;SOLUTION: A flat type capacitor comprises: a cathode foil member 1' including three cathode pieces 1'-1, 1'-2 and 1'-3; a lead terminal 2' fixed to one cathode piece 1'-1 of the cathode foil member 1'; an anode foil member including anode pieces 3'-1, 3'-2, 3'-3 and 3'-4; protruding tabs 3'a formed from the same material as that of the anode pieces and located in central upper portions of the anode pieces 3'-1, 3'-2, 3'-3 and 3'-4; a lead terminal 4' fixed to the outermost anode foil piece 3'-1; and separators 5'-1, 5'-2 and 5'-3. The cathode foil member 1' is inwrought in a wicker clothes box form for each of the cathode pieces 1'-1, 1'-2 and 1'-3. The flat type capacitor has a laminate arranged so that each cathode piece 1'-1, 1'-2, 1'-3 or 1'-4 of the cathode foil member is sandwiched by combinations each including the relevant one of the anode pieces 3'-1, 3'-2, 3'-3 and 3'-4 for which the tabs 3'a are formed respectively, and the relevant one of the separators 5'-1, 5'-2 and 5'-3.
