PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar supply system and a bar guide unit for the bar supply system capable of simply guiding and centering a bar with high reliability.SOLUTION: A bar guide unit for a bar supply system for supplying a bar elongating in the longitudinal direction includes at least a first guide element and at least a second guide element, which are installed to be mutually operable with respect to a support body. The bar guide unit includes a drive unit for moving the first guide element and the second guide element relative to each other between a closed position for fixing the bar and an open position for opening the bar. Each of the first and/or the second guide element is movably supported by a damping chamber. The damping chamber is filled with damping fluid for absorbing the movements of the guide elements at the closed position.
