Danieli to supply new QTB system to EZDK for its bar mill

Danieli has bagged an order from Egyptian company EZDK, to supply a new QTB (QuenchingTempering of Bars) system, replacing the quenching waterboxes at bar mill #2 of the company's Alexandria plant. The new QTB, designed for rolling speeds up to 14.5 mps, will quench 3x10-mm rebar at 12.9 mps and 12-mm rebar at 9 mps. The quenching process will be controlled by Danieli Automation with a stand alone package (from the MV/LV transformer up to PLC and HMI), in order to avoid the replacement of the existing automation in favour of a tuned and dedicated solution.
