PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scissors type cutter device that can effectively suppress a foreign matter from intruding a movable blade unit.;SOLUTION: The cutter mechanism 11 of a thermal printer has a configuration of a static blade 12 and the movable blade unit sandwiching the conveying route 6 of recording paper 3. The movable blade unit is provided with a swiveling movable blade 15 and a cutter cover 18 that clads it and makes the swiveling movable blade 15 come in and out of the static blade 12 side from an opening 20 formed at a part facing the conveying route 6 of a cutter cover 18. A shielding member 22 formed of a flexible resin sheet is provided at the opening 20 like a curtain. When the swiveling movable blade 15 comes out of the opening 20, the shielding member 22 is deformed following the motion of the swiveling movable blade 15, so that the swiveling movable blade 15 can come in and out of the opening 20 without a trouble. When the swiveling movable blade 15 comes back into the opening 20, the shielding member 22 returns to a state that the opening 20 is closed by its own weight and elastic return power.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
