PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance useful as an antitumor agent and a method for screening the same.SOLUTION: The antitumor agent contains a substance inhibiting the expression or the function of TMEM176B as a major component, specifically an antisense nucleic acid to the transcript of a gene coding TMEM176B, ribozyme nucleic acid or a nucleic acid having RNAi activity, or an antibody bonded to TMEM176B. More specifically, there are provided: a tumor angiogenesis inhibitor; and a method for screening the tumor angiogenesis inhibitor with a substance reducing the amount of expression of a gene coding TMEM176B or TMEM176B.
