The present invention relates to at least one (hydroxymethyl) phenol of the general formula (I), wherein R1 is hydrogen or —CH3, R2 is —CH2OH and R3 is hydrogen or —CH3. Oligomer condensation products obtainable from one polyamine and optionally at least one phenolic compound having two reactive centers by reaction with the methylol group of (hydroxymethyl) phenol are described. This type of condensation product can be used as a polymerization catalyst for epoxy resins, in which case a faster curing time and corresponding pot life can be achieved with a two-component epoxy resin adhesive. It is therefore possible to further reduce the production time in industrial applications and to develop new application fields in which adhesive bonding can be applied instead of threaded connections. The condensation products described above further have the advantage that no toxic substances such as formaldehyde or dimethylamine need to be used or released in the synthesis of these products when compared to similar conventional condensation products.
