PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a list of file data subjected to addition, modification and deletion at high speed by performing file scanning processing in a parallel and distributed manner with respect to a file server having created an index once.SOLUTION: A file list generating method includes the steps of: creating a file list 16 where an index of a scanning target file has been created, by a distribution processing server 2; acquiring the index creation completion file list, acquiring and analyzing a directory URL of the scanning target file to calculate the number of directories in each hierarchy, and determining a division unit of a scanning target directory on the basis of the calculation resu dividing the directory of the scanning target file according to a determined division method, performing distribution scanning by the distribution processing server, and creating the file list of the scanning target file; and comparing the created file list with the index creation completion file list, and creating and outputting a list of files subjected to addition, modification and deletion after index creation.
