PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quenching red heat coke, with which all red heat coke mounted on a coke quenching car is surely quenched, even when a range of mounting of the red heat coke on the quenching car is wider than a range of sprinkling of quenching water with a coke quenching tower.;SOLUTION: When a position where a center part of the red heat coke 12 mounted on the coke quenching car 13 coincides with a center part of the range W2 of sprinkling of quenching water of the coke quenching tower 14 is denoted as the first stopped position P1 of the quenching car, a position at which an end part of the red heat coke 12 of the coke oven side coincides with an end part of the range W2 of sprinkling of quenching water of the coke oven side is denoted as the second stopped position P2 of the quenching car, and a position at which an end part opposite to the end part of the coke oven side of the red heat coke 12 coincides with an end part opposite to the end part of the coke oven side of the range W2 of sprinkling of quenching water is denoted as the third stopped position P3 of the quenching car, the quenching water is sprinkled on the coke quenching car 13 by sequentially stopping the coke quenching car 13 at the second stopped position P2 of the quenching car, at the first stopped position P1 of the quenching car, and at the third stopped position P3 of the quenching car.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
