A method for reducing the polyposis and colorectal cancer

Methods are provided for reducing or inhibiting polyposis or colorectal cancer. The method includes administering to the mammal a bacterium that has been modified to reduce the presentation of lipoteichoic acid on the cell surface. Administration of the recombinant bacteria promotes the desired therapeutic response. The recombinant bacteria can be administered in a single dose or a series of doses. This method is used in the treatment or prevention of various polyp related diseases such as treatment or Lynch syndrome, familial adenomatous polyposis, and colorectal cancer.
