Systems and methods are provided for suppressing interference from data signals received at a receiving device, the receiving device having two or more than two receive antennas. The characteristics of the channel are estimated, provided that the channel is the channel through which the data signal transmitted from the transmitting device to the receiving device passes. Spatial correlation of interference and noise received at two or more receiving antennas of the receiving device is determined based on the estimated characteristics of the channel. This spatial correlation shows how interference and noise received at a particular one of the plurality of receiving antennas are related to interference and noise received at another one of the plurality of receiving antennas.
