The use of adsorbent derived from sewage sludge on the removal of lipophilic chemical constituents. The present invention is the use of adsorbents prepared from sewage sludge by heat treatment for the removal of lipophilic extractives of chemical constituents present in wood and in deposits of pitch in the pulp and paper industry.The efficiency of adsorption was evaluated and compared with the reference adsorbent, magnesium silicate, talc. Five adsorbents showed adsorption capacity above 71.7% by mass. All the adsorbents prepared were more efficient than the talcum powder on adsorption of lipophilic chemical constituents of pitch in terms of mass and number of compounds retained.
