Electrode system for increasing the concentration of ozone and other active oxygen species produced by the corona discharge in air or oxygen, consisting of at least one hollow needle electrode (1) or the full needle electrode (10) which serves as a cathode and a planar electrode (2), which serves as the anode. The planar electrode (2) may be in the form of a grid or plate. On the needle electrode (1, 10) is slipped a thin tube (4) of dielectric material so that the end of the tube should overlap towards the tip of the needle electrode (1, 10). The electrode system is placed in the discharge chamber (3). Inlet process gas into the space in the discharge can be performed in three ways. The first one is to use a hollow needle electrode (1) and the working gas is fed into the discharge its interior. In the second method, when used full needle electrode (10), the working gas is supplied into the discharge narrow annulus between resulting full needle electrode (10) and an inner diameter of a thin tube (4). The mixture of air, ozone and other active species generated in the discharge chamber (3) is removed via an outlet (6). In a third method the air to the discharge chamber (3) are supplied as input (500) so that the discharge chamber (3) passes perpendicularly to the full needle electrode (10) and a mixture of air, ozone and other active species generated in the discharge chamber (3) based on opposite the outlet (600). Electrode system with each said method of supplying process gas into the discharge space can be multiply repeated both in linear and in the planar configuration.
