Ballistic protection grid having an access hatch

The grid has an access hatch (5) received in an opening (4). The hatch comprises bars (2, 200) separated from each other at an inter-bar distance (D). The hatch partially conceals the opening. Edges (7) of the opening are separated from sides (8) of the hatch by distance equal to the inter-bar distance. The hatch is secured to the grid by a locking unit in a closed position. The locking unit comprises a tab (12a) carried by a side of the hatch and positioned with respect to another tab (12b) secured to an edge of the grid.
