Abstract The present invention describes a process for improving the health and fitness of subjects by providing high altitude acclimatisation at sea level by subjecting them to a rhythmic hypobarric pressure in an enclosed air tight chamber along with intermittent changes in oxygen level. The object of the invention is to provide benefits of fitness without actual exercise, as a biological response and to provide medical benefits of high altitude acclimatisation without concerns of safety hazards.
