The invention object relates to the electrical engineering. As the controllability, power density, regulation range are very essential in power electronic converters, the invention proposes enhancement of those characteristics for conventional current-fed quasi-Z-source inverters. Modified quasi-Z-source network utilizes two switching capacitor structures. Each of them contains N switching cells and one capacitive component. The example described proves superior performance of invention over prototype even in case when switching capacitor structures contain only one cell. Current-fed quasi-Z-source inverters that utilize proposed method could be used in hybrid electric vehicle motor drives and adjustable speed drives due to current source nature, buck-boost behaviour and regeneration capability within single stage solution.
