A shunt for its at least partial implantation in a patient comprising: an elongated conduit (11) having at least two lights therethrough, in which the at least two lights comprise a liquid conduit and a drainage conduit, wherein said drainage conduit comprises a proximal end (12) for receiving body fluids for flow through said shunt and a distal end (16) for discharging said body fluids from said shunt; and a prolonged source of at least one occlusion resistant agent fluidly coupled to the liquid conduit, such that the liquid conduit (21) functions as a conduit through which the at least one occlusion resistant agent flows; and the drain conduit (22) functions as a conduit for the drainage of cerebrospinal fluid; and wherein the liquid conduit comprises a surface (18) through which at least one occlusion resistant agent can penetrate.
