STXBP1 as a psychiatric biomarker in a murine model system and its uses

A transgenic mouse having a polynucleotide encoding a STXBP1 polypeptide (syntaxin-binding protein 1), a polynucleotide that is operably linked to an EAAT3 promoter (excitatory amino acid transporter 3), wherein said transgenic mouse has an expression of the polypeptide of STXBP1 greater than wild type in at least one brain region selected from: cortex, striatum, hippocampus, and cerebellum.
