The present invention relates to a multipurpose casing for reversible actuation and traditional and/or anti-panic actuation in locks for joinery based on metallic profile sections, which comprises a body (1), a lateral cover (2) and a front (3); the cover (2) has a separate first bearing (2a), second bearing (2b) and third bearing (2c), and, matched with the vertical window (1j) and the horizontal groove (1 k) of the body (1), this cover (2) has a vertical window (2d) and a horizontal groove (2e); the pairs of first bearings (1e, 2a), second bearings (1f, 2b) and third bearings (1g, 2c) have diameters that are reciprocals of those of the shaft lugs corresponding to a follower (4) and follower supplement (4a) assembly, and to a first toothed rotary lever (10) and second toothed rotary lever (11); the horizontal groove (1 k) of the lateral wall (1a) is longer than the horizontal groove (2c) of the cover (2) and has a width adjusted to exceed that of a button (7h) of a supporting element (7b) of an articulated latch (7).
