A device (1) for actuating a frictional converter lock-up clutch (2) of a hydrodynamic torque converter (3) is described. A piston (7) of the converter lock-up clutch (2) can be loaded with a pressure (pWD) of a converter inner chamber (8), which pressure (pWD) acts in the closing direction of the converter lock-up clutch (2), and with a pressure (pWK) of a piston chamber (9) which is delimited by the piston (7), which pressure (pWK) acts in the opening direction. The piston chamber (9) is connected to the converter inner chamber (8) at least in the open operating state of the converter lock-up clutch (2). The converter inner chamber (8) can be loaded with hydraulic fluid via a first line (12). Hydraulic fluid can be discharged from the converter inner chamber (8) via a second line (13). The piston chamber (9) of the converter lock-up clutch (2) can be connected to a pressure-conducting region (16) and to a substantially pressureless region (17). According to the invention, a device (15) is provided, via which a transmission capability of the converter lock-up clutch (2) can be modulated by varying of the pressure (pWK) in the piston chamber (9).
