A porous carbon nanotube microsphere material and a preparation method therefor and application thereof, a lithium metal-skeleton carbon composite material and a preparation method therefor, a negative electrode of a rechargeable battery, a rechargeable battery, and a metal-skeleton carbon composite material. The porous carbon nanotube microsphere material is a spherical or near-spherical particles formed by carbon nanotubes, an average diameter of the spherical or near-spherical particles is 1 μm to 100 μm, nanotubes intersect in the particles to form a large number of nanoscale pores with an aperture of 1 nm to 200 nm. A method for preparing a porous carbon nanotube microspherecomprises: mixing and dispersing carbon nanotubes and a solvent, and performing spray drying, to obtain a porous carbon nanotube microsphere. The lithium metal-skeleton carbon composite material is obtained by evenly mixing and cooling a lithium metal in a molten state and a porous carbon material carrier.
