The present invention provides a measuring apparatus and a measuring method thereof, which store a standardized feature graph as data and compare the data with a feature graph generated in each measurement on the basis of technology of analyzing a feature graph of OTDR, accurately determine whether an ONU is connected to an end of an optical cable or an optical cable is cut regardless of the optical cable with the end connected to a general optical connector or an FAOC and, at the same time, accurately display an optical power value of an OLT, an optical power value of the ONU, a distance from a measurement point to the ONU or to an optical cable cut point.
