Disclosed are an apparatus for refining sinter flue gas and a method for controlling the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for refining sinter flue gas includes: an activated carbon rector to remove a sulfur oxide from the flue gas generated from a sintering machine using activated carbon; and an activate carbon circulation speed adjusting unit to adjust the circulation speed of the activated carbon so that the activated carbon reactor does not reach a break-through point with respect to the sulfur oxide.
