The present invention relates to a superconducting current limiting element of a fault current limiter and a method of making the same. Current limiting elements of the fault current limiter are configured in series by stacking a straight superconducting wire rod, or configured in parallel by stacking at least one superconducting wire rod on the same layer. The current limiting elements of fault current limiter can be easily configured in series or parallel without a winding machine. For this, the present invention includes: at least one superconducting wire rod which extends on straight and stacked, a contact block and an insulating block which are respectively arranged at both end parts of the superconducting wire rod between the stacked superconducting wire rods and intersect each other on each layer; and a terminal which is arranged at one side of the uppermost layer of the stacked superconducting wire rods and is formed at one side end of the lowermost superconducting wire rod.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
