hard disk drive goes into low power mode to reduce power consumption. To maintain communications with the host device, the communication interface provides an activated state with the circuit part that stores the configuration data for the communication interface. In order to enable the communication interface and the circuit part, the low power voltage regulator provides a suitable reference voltage. A low-power voltage regulator is used as the only for this purpose. Another voltage control device is a low-power linear mode switching from the active mode to provide the reference voltage required. In addition, a unique handshaking signals are used to control what comes out from the low-power mode that goes into low power mode by a hard disk drive.
