The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling a vehicle cluster by communicating with a smartphone which enables a vehicle cluster to communicate with a smartphone via short-range wireless communications, enables the configuration of a vehicle cluster to be easily changed by using a smartphone, and enables schedule information of the smartphone to be displayed in the vehicle cluster. The apparatus comprises: a cluster which obtains, when the engine of a vehicle starts, cluster configuration information and schedule information via short-range wireless communications with a smartphone, which changes a cluster configuration according to the obtained cluster configuration information, and which performs a notification function according to the schedule information; and the smartphone which transmits the cluster configuration information and schedule information to the cluster, which receives vehicle sate information and the schedule information transmitted from the cluster to display the vehicle state information on a screen, and which performs a notification function.
