The present invention is directed to a method of treating an eye, ear or nose infestation comprising treating infected tissue with a composition comprising pinafoxacin or a pinafoxacin derivative. The invention also relates to an antimicrobial composition comprising pinafloxacin or a pinafoxacin derivative. The compositions are suitable for the treatment of eye, ear, or nose infections.
