FIELD: electricity.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric insulating cross arms for supports of high-voltage power transmissions lines. The cross arm includes an insulating structure element intended for fastening to the support housing, and also for supporting of the current-conducting cable. The insulating structure element contains a continuous, rigid frame, passing along its longitudinal axis and having a profile of transversal cross-section, perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, meanwhile the second geometrical moment of inertia of the profile of transversal section around of each axes, its perpendicular longitudinal axis and crossing the centroid, it has the value A²/2π or more, where A is the area of the transversal cross-section profile.;EFFECT: structure element ensures the resistance to transversal and longitudinal bending at compression and allows to hold reliably the wires on the support of decreased height, T- and Y-cross section ensures an extremely good sink of water and prevents to growth of microorganisms on the structure element; besides, during the use in cross arms of the supports, the structure elements, as a whole, can be used as insulators on the high-voltage power transmission.;20 cl, 13 dwg
