Four interrupted and continuous blanket sutures are applied. blanket suture loops are pulled up, and the suture ends are tightened with a temporary knots. Viscoelastic is inserted into an anterior chamber; bimanual tips of an aspiration-irrigation system of a phacoemulsifier are inserted into the lumens between the blanket suture loops. Lens mass is removed; the temporary knot connecting the blanket suture ends is released; viscoelastic is introduced again; an intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted by means of an injector.
