The present invention relates to an automatic method for regulating the water quality of a pool, in particular a swimming pool, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - measurement of the pH and the temperature - measurement of the concentration of dissolved CO2 - calculation of the TAC as a function of the pH, the temperature and the concentration of dissolved CO2 - determination of the types and quantities of correction solutions to be injected, - injection of the said correction solutions. The present invention also relates to a system for regulating the water quality of a basin, specially designed to implement the method according to the invention.
