Method, system and calibration target for the automatic calibration of an imaging antenna array

The system (1) is used for the automatic calibration of an imaging antenna array (2) by means of an evaluator (4). The antenna array (2) broadcasts signals (6) and receives the signals (6') of known form reflected by a calibration target (3). The calibration target (3, 31, 32) has at least one diffuse reflector (8). In the evaluation process, position coordinates of the calibration target (3) are entered and the measurement of the reflected signals (6´) is accompanied by the following method steps: i. Calculation of the reflections from the calibration target (3, 31, 32); ii. Calculation of calibration data; iii. Creation of an image of the calibration target using the calibration data; iv. Determination of corrected position coordinates by evaluation of the image from the at least one diffuse reflector; v. Execution of steps i. to iv. using corrected position coordinates.
