Contact messages within personalised medical diagnostic images

Medical diagnostic images are sent and received, when received the digital image data is modified by deleting private patient information in the digital image data. Contact information for a medical professional associated with the received medical diagnostic image is then selected and the digital image data is modified by embedding the selected contact information into the modified digital image data for the medical diagnostic image. The modified digital image data and the embedded contact information are sent over a network so the image can be shared by the client with others. Personalized contact messages may also be embedded in non-medical images for sharing with others. Embedded contact messages may be embedded as a watermark, or using layering techniques or substitution techniques. The contact messages may include hyperlinks, coupons, quick response codes, electronic business card or contact information and are visible or accessible to a recipient.
