The invention concerns a blast barrier protective device comprising a mat (22) and a bell-shaped hood (1), the mat (22) and the hood (1) being each made of blast barrier material sheets, the hood (1) being designed to be set on the mat (22) to cover a suspicious object placed on the mat (22). The protective device enables to isolate an object suspected to be an explosive device, and to attenuate the effects of explosion of the suspicious object in a transport vehicle which cannot be rapidly evacuated, such as an aircraft for example.
