PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charging capacity estimation method that can relatively easily estimate the charging capacity of a secondary battery containing a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: A battery charging capacity estimation method comprises a charging step of charging a secondary battery from a first charging rate to a second charging rate, a discharging step of discharging the secondary battery from the second charging rate to the first charging rate, a total heat calculation step of calculating the total heat of the secondary battery occurring in the charging step and the discharging step, a reaction heat calculation step of calculation reaction heat while the total heating is separated into polarization heat and the reaction heat, and a charging capacity estimation step of estimating the charging capacity of the secondary battery based on the reaction heat.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18
