PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motorization unit for a manual vehicle that can easily travel on a step, a control method for a motorization unit for a manual vehicle, an electrically driven wheelchair, and a control method for an electrically driven wheelchair.;SOLUTION: A motorization unit 2 for a manual vehicle includes: a body part 200 that can be attached to an attachment part 211 of a manual vehicle (manual wheelchair 1) having a rear wheel 13, a front wheel 14, and the attachment part 211; and a driving wheel 21 provided to the body part 200 behind the rear wheel 13 of the manual vehicle (manual wheelchair 1).
