PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a novel primer for detecting Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis which uses a DNA sequence on IS900 as a target unlike a conventional gene examination of Johne's disease and is capable of specifically amplifying Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis DNA, and a gene examination method of Johne's disease using the primer.SOLUTION: There is provided a primer pair for detecting Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis by a nucleic acid amplification method, in which the primer pair includes a forward primer of (a) below and a reverse primer of (b) below, or includes a forward primer (c) below and a reverse primer of (d) below, and there is also provided a method for detecting Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis using these primer pairs.
