PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a graphite-copper composite electrode material capable of reducing electrode wear to a practical level; and an electrode for electrical discharge processing using the material.SOLUTION: A graphite-copper composite electrode material includes a base material composed of a graphite material, the base material including pores impregnated with copper. The graphite-copper composite electrode material has an electrical resistivity of 2.5 m or less, preferably 1.5 m or less, particularly preferably 1.0 m or less. An anisotropy ratio of the base material composed of the graphite material is preferably 1.2 or less. An impregnation ratio of the copper in the electrode material is preferably 13% or more. A bulk density of the base material composed of the graphite material is preferably not less than 1.40 Mg/mnor more than 1.85 Mg/m.
