PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing appropriate complex oxide particles for a positive electrode active material even in the case of using a positive electrode active material of a lithium ion secondary battery, which is easy to cause gelation.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing coated complex oxide particles comprises: a thermal treatment step where particles subjected to a thermal treatment are obtained; a sintering step where complex oxide particles are obtained; and additionally, coating the particles with CMC(carboxymethylcellulose) into the coated complex oxide particles. The method makes possible to prevent gelation of paste which is a mixture of a positive electrode active material, a binding agent and a conductive material, and to have a good battery property.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
