Synthesis and application of a compound binuclear of copper in the treatment of solid tumours. The introduction, from 1978, the coordination compound cisplatin in chemotherapy of cancer, represented a milestone in the history of medicinal inorganic chemistry, and constituted a major breakthrough in the treatment of several types of tumors.Since then, we developed an intense search for new metal complexes also showed antitumor activity, but with low toxicity to the body. Thus, this work aimed at the development, characterization and evaluation of anticancer activity of coordination compounds previously described copper.The present invention patent has the objective of a composition based on the synergetic effect of the compounds 1 - [2 - piridilmetil) amino] - 3 - (1-naphthyloxy) - 2-propanol and cucl2.2h20 for use in the treatment of solid tumours, related to the area of medicinal inorganic chemistry.
