Method and device for integrating mobile radio technologies in keys and key-like objects

The method involves opening an object by a key, and providing subscriber identity module (SIM) card information to the object and/or components of the object through the key, which allows authentication to a network. A connection to a set of information networks is established, to transmit data and/or speech, through the object and/or components of the object using the provided card information. Authority to use the card information is cancelled, when the key is closed or removed. The card information is transmitted during insertion of the key into a key hole. An independent claim is also included for a key integrated with a mobile radio unit for exchanging speech and data.
