THERMAL CONTROL COATING COMPOSITION AND A PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME

Disclosed herein is an invention that provides a novel high emissive, low solar absorptive, heat conductive, water repellent thermal control coating composition comprising curable polyorganosiloxane, mixture of fillers, solvent, a curing system and a cure ca talyst. The invention also provides a process for preparing the same. The coating composition of the presen t invention is lighter in weight, can be applied to a variety of metallic substrates including anodized aluminium, nickel, inconel, steel etc. and can be cured at room temperature. The components of the coating composition act synergistically and exhibit improved UV stability in space, low total mass loss (TML) in space and exhibit low collected volatile condensable matter (CVCM) in space.
