A beneficiation process for iron ore fines of size less than 1 mm having more than 3% of Alumina content is described. The process comprises dry screening of the iron ore fines by means of a screen of size 250, forming a finer fraction iron ore and a coarser fraction iron ore, feeding the finer fraction iron ore to a first Hydrocyclone, forming a first underflow and a first overflow, the first hydrocyclone being operated at Vortex finder diameter: ll-16mm, Spigot diameter: 3.0-6.0 mm, % Solid (by wt.): 5-15 and Feed Inlet Pressure 30-48 psi. Feeding the first underflow to a Fine Mineral Spiral Separator (FMSS) resulting a first concentrate and a first tailing, the FMSS operating at % Solid (by wt): 20- 30mm, Feed flow rate (m3/hr): 2.1-4.3 mm, and Splitter Position (cm): 4-14; feeding the coarser fraction iron ore to a second Hydrocyclone resulting in a second underflow and a second overflow, the second hydrocyclone operating at Vortex finder diameter: ll-14mm, Spigot diameter: 4.0-8.0mm, % Solid (by wt.): 5-15 and Feed Inlet Pressure 30-48 psi; and feeding the second underflow to a High Gradient Spiral Separator (HGSS) resulting in a second concentrate and a second tailing, the HGSS operating at % Solid (by wt): 15-25mm, Feed flow rate (m3/hr): 2.1-4.3 mm, and Splitter Position (cm): 4-14.
