The present disclosure is related to the turbine blade geometry for wind operated rotors of the helical savonius type; this geometry allows achieving static torque coefficients of 0.28 with helical rotors with a turbine blade twist of 180°. The proposed geometry can be used for exploiting more efficiently the wind power reducing the rotor imbalance and allowing an almost constant torque during the rotor rotation. The turbine blade geometry and its helical shape enable the rotor rotation in a single direction regardless of the direction of the wind flow. This quality allows the rotor to reduce losses due to the counter-torque generated by the wind flow in different directions.
