The invention relates to the method of intraoperative assessment of surgical margins of gross specimen during radical prostatectomy with locally advanced prostate cancer. The method provides for the resection of the prostate, the marking of the posterolateral surface of the gross specimen. In the pathology department, the stained margin of resection is flattened and assessed in panoramic mode. In the presence of cancer cells, the positive surgical edge is ascertained with specific topographic localization. The information obtained allows for increasing radicality of the surgery and improving the long-term outcome.
