The invention relates to semi-trailers and platforms having self-propelled axles for heavy and special transportation, at least one of said axles (1) comprising a pair of electric motors (2) which are conveniently sized, inserted inside the tunnelled interior thereof, appropriately secured via anchoring means (4), centrally located and both electric motors (2) being independent from one another, working simultaneously with the pair or both being deactivated, said pair of electric motors (2) being connected, via WiFi, wiring or other means, to an electronic centre located in the tractor unit, such that, when activated, they transmit their rotational movement to the plate or disc (5), which are in turn linked to the wheel rim and tyre assembly (C) by means of studs (6). This pair or pairs of electric motors (2), incorporating lithium batteries and recharging systems, all rotate in a coordinated manner at the same speed, regulated by the electronic centre of the tractor unit.
